HASTINGS MACLEAY HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICE
This free service is available to all men, women and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and are unable to access suitable, affordable accommodation or are experiencing difficulties maintaining an existing tenancy.
Available every Monday at the Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre.
Phone for an appointment.
This may include:
- experiencing financial difficulties
- limited life skills
- recently released from a correctional centre
- exiting from a rehabilitation centre
- low levels of self care
- at risk of violence in their current accommodation
- experiencing high levels of conflict within the family situation
- removed from the home as a result of domestic violence
- have mental health issues
We can provide:
- assistance in accessing crisis accommodatin and long term housing
- information and/or referral to other services
- advocacy on your behalf to Government and Non Government service providers eg; Dept of Housing, Community Housing, Real Estate Agents, Centrelink etc.
- emotional support and practical assistance eg; living skills, budgeting, financial counselling etc.
- assistance with bus/rail fares to alternative accommodation in other areas.
