NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE SERVICES
PORT MACQUARIE NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE in Muston Street is the administration section for all Neighbourhood Centre auspiced services. We have a large array of free brochures & literature available, as well as providing information & referral. Call in and chat to our friendly staff and volunteers - we will endeavour to assist with any enquiry you may have.
Information, Referral & Advocacy - The Neighbourhood Centres at Port Macquarie & Wauchope provide an array of information & brochures free of charge to all members of the community. We provide referrals to many community organisations in the Hastings and can also advocate on your behalf if necessary.
Community Development - Community consultation via community surveys are carried out regularly in both Port Macquarie & Wauchope areas to assess the needs of the most disadvantaged. Community meetings are held with the aim of providing assistance to fill those needs. Community celebrations and various events are held regularly throughout the year.

Community Directory - The Community Services Directory was an initiative of the PM Neighbourhood Centre and supported by Port News. A free printed version was made available each year listing many local community organisations, support groups, special interest & sporting groups. The first edition became available in 1988 and continued each year until 2009. With changing times and increased costs it became essential to cease printing the CSD, however we continue to update this information and it is all available on this website. VIEW THE DIRECTORY.
OOSH Before & After School Care & Vacation Care - School pick up & drop off service during school terms. Vacation care during school holidays. Fun organised centre based activities & excursions provided by dedicated, caring staff.
Tenants Advice Service - Free assistance offered to all tenants including private & Dept. of Housing tenants, and caravan park residents.
Toy Library - Volunteer run service offering low cost toy hire to the community.
Port Macquarie Volunteer Centre - Provides links to Volunteering throughout Hastings District. Our service offers training & resources for volunteers and volunteer organisations, information & advice on volunteering issues and facilitates corporate volunteering.
Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre - Provides information, referral, advocacy and a range of community programs to Wauchope & surrounding rural remote communities.

EAPA - Electricity vouchers available to assist with payment of electricity account. Available at Port Macquarie and Wauchope Neighbourhood Centres
Emergency Assistance - Food, petrol vouchers and other emergency assistance to residents of Wauchope and surrounding communities. Available at Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre only
Hastings Macleay Housing Support Program - Free assistance to homeless or those at risk of homelessness.
Legal Aid - Free Family Law & Child Support appointments.
Legal Advice Service - provides free legal advice on any legal matter. Appointments at the Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre.
Tax Help - Qualified taxation volunteers available to assist with the completion of tax returns - July to October every year.
Traffic Offenders Program - Re-education program for drink driving offenders. Magistrate referral only.
